Do womens golf shoes run the same size as a sneaker? and.......?

Where is the best web sight to buy Women%26#039;s golf shoes and larger size golf clothing? I am looking for a pair of Oakley Womens Golf shoes size 9 1/2-10

Do womens golf shoes run the same size as a sneaker? and.......?
Never buy golf shoes from the web sites! Each maker has a different last even for the same size. Since golf is the walking game you should try the shoes to see if they are comfortable. So go to the sports store , the pro shop, or the shoe stores all of who should carry golf shoes.. Do not get steel spikes because many courses no longer allow steel on their premises..Find the fit you like, the style and the price and good walking. See you on the course.
Reply:If cannot find what you are looking for locally. You could try these online sites:

or

Reply:generally they do run the same size but for comfort I have gone to the next size up as I have wide feet. You can go to the nearest pro shop and they will custom fit a pair for you.

and googie is right - DONT buy on the internet
Reply:I can%26#039;t answer your question about where to buy the shoes but, yes they do run the same size as regular shoes. You do want to get shoes that have cleats that can be changed. I think they are called Quicklock.

Golf Shoes or Tennies?

I%26#039;m joining the HS golf team, and I was wondering if I should go buy golf shoes or wear my regular tennis shoes? Do I really need golf shoes?

Golf Shoes or Tennies?
I would say yes, because all high school golf teams will require that you to walk the course and carry your bag. Golf shoes are essential for keeping your balance in tight lies or just about anywhere on the course when you are swinging. Tennis shoes will damage the greens so they are not a good idea. I%26#039;m pretty sure that the school will probably require golf shoes so I would ask the golf coach. Good luck!
Reply:Golf shoes are made for playing golf. Tennis shoes are made for playing tennis. Where%26#039;s the problem. Do you think they%26#039;re lying to you?
Reply:it is not needed to wear golf shoes, although some clubs require it, because tennis shoes may tear up the green. it would be better to wear golf shoes, but its not required
Reply:If you want to be classy (which the high-end sport of golf is...) yes. but remember you%26#039;re only walking from green to green....(unless you have a golf cart, in which case you are riding)
Reply:A good tennis shoe with good gripping soles is fine when it is dry.

Golf shoes are best when it is wet, they give you better grounding, and keep your feet and socks dry!

Also many golf shoes now are spikeless, and that is what i prefer to use.
Reply:golf shoes would be good b/c they don%26#039;t mess up the greens that bad but if you wear tennis shoes just be careful and they will get really grassy when it%26#039;s wet!
Reply:girls golf was in the fall, when school started. i know because i play for my school team
Reply:I%26#039;d wear golf shoes. When the grass is dry, it doesn%26#039;t make a big difference. But when its wet, golf shoes definitely help.

Are golf shoes a MUST?

for the golf season.. i was thinking just to wear my puma running shoes.. which have average grip... but im reading everywhere that i wont be taken seriously with tennis shoes and not actual golf shoes...

and the golf shoes that i%26#039;ve looked at are all over 50$ .. i dont think it%26#039;s worth it..

but are they a must??? for a school sport???

Are golf shoes a MUST?
I would recommend golf shoes because you need to grip the grass when you swing. In my experience, wearing tennis shoes will cause your feet to slide if you really try to rip a shot.

You could still golf without them... but it might put you at a slight disadvantage. There is no rule saying you must wear them.
Reply:Not really a must. A guy on our varsity team wore skateboard shoes lol Our coach did not like that too much. They do help though and people will probably take you more seriously.
Reply:Golf shoes arent i suppose neccessary unless its raining. If its raining or the ground is wet golf shots are important. Regular sneakers wont give you a good grip and youll probably slip a lot. When its a nice day and stuff its not that important...i forgot my golf shoes once and i ended up shooting one of my better rounds. =] actually i won the golf tourny!
Reply:Besides grip, the other thing golf shoes priovide is stability - when you swing, your weight is shifting from the outside of your right foot, to the outside of your left foot if you swing right handed.

If you grab a pair of golf shoes off the shelf, and try to twist the soles, you%26#039;ll find theyre very stiff. This provides the support you need and keep you from killing your feet.

This might not be an issue for you now, since you are school age, but it%26#039;s something you will want to do in the future.
Reply:You can play barefoot if you want to. Sam Snead used to practice barefoot in an effort to work on balance. It must have worked. With today%26#039;s chemicals. weed killers, and insect killers that are applied to the golf course I don%26#039;t know if playing barefoot is advisable. A simple sneaker is good enough. You%26#039;ll know when you need to graduate to golf shoes.
Reply:a must, no, an advantage...yes, on level ground it shouldnt make a big difference, on an uneven surface or off a hill you will not be able to dig in...on a slightly damp surface not having spikes will be a hinderance...spend the money, you wont regret it...
Reply:go to golfshoeonly.com they have nike for under 20.00 U.S.D.
Reply:If Your shoes determine whether you are taken seriously as a golfer.....there is a problem. Are Golf shoes a %26quot;must%26quot;? Millions of people wear running shoes, cross country shoes, Cross trainers, etc every week playing golf. Is there an advantage....sure is. Better footing in a sport that demands balance precision........and yep they are a bit pricey......go with what you can comfortably afford.
Reply:Here is a golf school that has lots of great info about the golf industry. They may have some tips on whether or not it is OK to where something other than golf shoes. If you are playing quite a bit, it may be something worth investing in.

Hope you find some good information
Reply:Golf shoes are not a must. Your tennis shoes will be fine and may even teach you better balance. I%26#039;m a golf professional and, although I usually wear golf shoes, I have played in sneakers (tennis shoes), sandals and even barefoot. In fact, the late great Sam Snead played barefoot when he was younger.
Reply:They are not a must, but I would recommend in a sport thats already very difficult to give yourself every advantage that you can. If you swing very balanced and never try to really kill the ball I don%26#039;t see a big need for them. I often practice with out them to try to improve my tempo and make sure that I%26#039;m not swinging too hard.
Reply:I have two good pairs of golf shoes and I paid less than $30 for each. A few years ago I got a pair of Nike on clearance from a store closing sale for about $22.00. This winter I just bought another pair of Top Flite golf shoes that are pink and white with a Kiltie from Target for $9.00. I%26#039;m new at golf so I didn%26#039;t know if these would be okay. I also picked up a pair for my friend who plays golf reguarly and she likes them. I%26#039;m always shopping for bargains so I rarely pay full price for anything.

Also try Ebay. I just saw my Top Flite shoe there.

I guess you need to remember golf is not an cheap sport.
Reply:You really do need golf shoes. Golf is hard enough without having to worry about your feet sliding when you swing. Go to tgw.com. They always have some shoes in their clearance section you can get for a decent price.
Reply:for your school golf team... they are a good idea. a lot of tennis shoes have a good grip and you can get away with it. but, golf shoes get a better grip and they will make you seem more like a %26quot;serious golfer%26quot;.

golf shoes are VERY worth the price. I played in nike shox for a year 1/2... then i went out and bought adidas 360%26#039;s and they actually helped my game.. not sure how lol.

but... they aren%26#039;t mandatory but they are a really good idea.

good luck and have fun!! :)

Can golf shoes be worn as regular shoes (not playing golf)?

I like these really nice pair of golf shoes, and I cant find that style in regular shoes. I was wondering if it was okay to wear them as regular shoes also. I do play golf too.

Can golf shoes be worn as regular shoes (not playing golf)?
Sure you can wear them, I suggest removing the spikes first, that way they are not trashed the next time you golf.
Reply:Sure you can, but the spikes might be annoying. They%26#039;re even slippery on hard surfaces. I%26#039;d remove the spikes to use as regular shoes.
Reply:Try it and see!
Reply:if u take ur spikes off u could, but on some shoes it is very hard to take spikes off and put them back on without professional help and $ spent... I don%26#039;t recommend it, but if u want... but atleast clean ur shoes b4 .. especially if u just went golfing
Reply:Yes, but I wouldn%26#039;t recommend it unless you remove the spikes, which can be a bit of a hassle. If not, you will wear the spikes down and have to replace them, which costs money. Also you could slip and fall, which isn%26#039;t good. Lastly, you could mark up people%26#039;s floors.
Reply:Actually Footjoy makes a line of spikeless shoes that are meant to be interchangeable as regular shoes.

I don%26#039;t think anyone would mind if you wore your golf shoes as %26#039;regular%26#039; shoes!
Reply:If you like the noise! Every time you walk on a hard surface you will hear a clickity clack!
Reply:You%26#039;re such a girl! They do make teaching shoes that don%26#039;t have the spikes. However, I haven%26#039;t seen them for ladies. That doesn%26#039;t mean they are not made because there are female teaching professionals.
Reply:Well i guess you could take the spikes off. and wear them

Golf Shoes?

can anyone tell me their personal preference on spikeless or spiked shoes. i know most courses dont allow metal spikes. but the rubber ones or spikeless thanx

Golf Shoes?
Having not worn metal spikes in several years, I can%26#039;t say I know the difference anymore.

As far as a preference of soft spikes, I%26#039;d have to say the Champ Stinger has my vote. In my opinion, they%26#039;re just as good as any metal spikes. Champ also makes a Pro Stinger version that has a small metal spike in the middle (made specifically for the European market).

Here%26#039;s the link http://www.champspikes.com/golf.htm
Reply:Champ spikes are good, but the cost of replacement you can buy another pair of Nike golf shoes at a discount store rather than replacing the spikes.
Reply:Been wearing soft spikes for about 10 - 15 years......I guess I like them.....beats Tenny runners for wet surfaces any day

Golf shoes?

Which is a better golf shoes Footjoy or Nike.

Golf shoes?
By sales revenue it%26#039;s Nike.

However I personally find footjoy more comfortable.
Reply:Hands down FootJoy.
Reply:I%26#039;ve tried both. I prefer Nike. Go to a store that has both, try them on, and walk around. Get ones that have a 2 year waterproof warranty.
Reply:I%26#039;m gonna say like on the putter one shoes are shoes, they%26#039;re not gonna make you play any better. but I%26#039;ll say footjoys
Reply:You cannot go wrong with Foot Joys. I have never had a problem with them. Everytime I buy another brand, I end up hating them.
